Don't wait for an FDA ban to research your supplement

It's tough reading medical journal articles on the consequences of supplements, because we continue to buy pills, powders, and shakes based on a broken marketing model. Please consider eating the real thing in it's natural form or send the ingredient list to a health professional. All natural does NOT mean healthy, and unfortunately, our current federal product review system doesn't protect you from harmful supplements until sufficient documented damage occurs. "Although patients began to develop severe hepatitis in May 2013, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), whose job it is to remove dangerous supplements from store shelves, did not learn of the cases until mid-September, 4 months later."

Here's the New England Journal of Medicine article on another supplement safety issue.
